Raging Buffalo Glass is a glass shop run by Charles “Chip” Hall, a master glassblower with three decades of experience. Specializing in unique made-to-order pieces, he also opens his studio at McGuffey Art Studio to the public for lessons and annual holiday ornament blowing.
Glassblowing Lessons
This fall, we are offering a Beginner/Intermediate class for students 21 and up. The class is and introduction to glass blowing and learning beginning and intermediate techniques. At the end of one month, students will be able to learn how to make a bowl, a vase, or a glass. Includes all materials. Classes are Tuesdays or Thursdays 6pm - 9pm and is 4 weeks long. It is $650 per person, this includes material fee.
Raging Buffalo Glass offers project-focused private lessons, customized to the student’s interests and needs as well as general intro to glass experiences.
Lessons cover the basics such as gathering, shaping, sculpting, and safety. The tools and materials are all included, and classes are held in the Raging Buffalo Glass shop, in the basement of McGuffey Art Center in downtown Charlottesville.
We also offer a glass intensive courses for crafters who want to come in and work on a specific project.
